The Honda GX is the first CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) in California. This Alternative fuel vehicle is a great way to be environmentally conscientious AND save money at the pump! Alternative fuel vehicles can be defined as vehicles that have as their primary fuel source something other than gasoline. The natural gas Civic GX is the world's cleanest internal combustion engine and entirely eliminates the use of gasoline. It is also the only dedicated natural gas vehicle which runs solely on (CNG)
In addition to public fueling you may now fuel up in your home. "Phill" (made by FuelMaker), is a home refueling appliance that can fuel a Civic GX right in a person's garage. Phill is certified like any home natural gas appliance and allows convenient, economical access to natural gas fuel. It plugs into a 120-volt outlet, taps into a house, compresses the gas into the vehicle and fuels the vehicle overnight.

The natural gas-powered Civic GX uses no gasoline—how’s that for being socially responsible? For 2008, the Civic GX is "America's Greenest Car" according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). But this is not the first time the Civic GX has received this honor. The Civic GX was first ranked at the top of the ACEEE list in 2000, and has held the title of "Greenest Car" for five consecutive years. That’s more than any other vehicle. The Civic GX keeps coming out on top due to its squeaky-clean and gasoline-free near-zero emissions performance—which is great news for the environment.
